8 Easy Home Remedies to Remove Sticker and Label Glue Residue

Here are some effective home remedies to remove glue residue from stickers or labels:

1. Vinegar

Soak a cloth or paper towel in white vinegar.

Place it over the residue for a few minutes to loosen the glue.

Wipe it off with the same cloth or scrape it gently with a plastic card.

2. Cooking Oil

Apply a small amount of olive, coconut, or vegetable oil to the glue residue.

Let it sit for 5–10 minutes to soften the glue.

Wipe away with a clean cloth or gently scrub with a soft brush.

3. Baking Soda and Coconut Oil Paste

Mix equal parts of baking soda and coconut oil into a paste.

Rub it onto the sticky area in circular motions.

Wash off with warm, soapy water.

4. Rubbing Alcohol or Hand Sanitizer

Apply rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer to the residue.

Let it sit for a minute or two.

Rub off the glue using a cloth or cotton ball.

5. Warm Soapy Water

For glass or plastic, soak the item in warm, soapy water for 10–15 minutes.

Scrub gently with a sponge or plastic scraper.

6. Hair Dryer

Use a hair dryer to heat the glue residue for a few seconds.

Peel or wipe it off while it’s still warm.

7. Toothpaste

Apply non-gel toothpaste to the residue.

Rub gently with a cloth or your finger, then wipe clean with a damp cloth.

8. Eraser

A regular pencil eraser can sometimes rub off glue residue, especially on paper or cardboard.

These remedies are easy to use and work well on most surfaces. Test in an inconspicuous spot first to ensure it doesn’t damage the material.
