New Earth-Sized Planet Discovered: Potentially Habitable World Just 40 Light-Years Away!

Scientists have recently found a new Earth-sized planet called SPECULOOS-3c. This planet is located about 40 light-years away from us and might have conditions that support life. It orbits a small, cool star, and it’s in the “habitable zone,” which means it could have liquid water on its surface.

The discovery was made by the SPECULOOS project, which looks for planets around small, dim stars. These stars make it easier to find planets like SPECULOOS-3c. The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) will soon study this planet in more detail to see if it has an atmosphere and what its surface is like.

This finding is exciting because it shows that there may be more Earth-like planets out there than we thought. It gives scientists hope that we might find other planets where life could exist, right in our cosmic neighborhood.
